you can buy this stuff called Gorilla glue from the hardware store and it%26#039;s one of the strongest glues in the world
Reply:Barge Cement is used by many shoe repair shops for this exact purpose. It comes in a yellow and red tube, and you may even be able to purchase it at your local shoe store or shoe repair shop.

we use natural rubber latex 60% DRC for shoe bonding. We apply it to leather, artificial leather and let it dry. Then join the two parts. Latex prices have gone very up. Need cheap alternate

What is the alternate of natural rubber latex 60% DRC (used in shoe industries)?
I%26#039;ll have to ask for a bit more information.

a. do you need a set cure time ?

b. is the temperature / humidity in a controlled environment ?

c. Flex of the finished bond ?

Latex is relatively cheap and low tech in the world of bonding materials. Would a change in protocol for this be cost prohibitive, reduce capacity, require more storage for cure times? The latex market is more flexible than a business, could the business survive a latex price hike for an extended period of time, or just cut profits?

Name of Shoe Brand for a clear open toe dress shoe?

I live in San Diego and there is a shoe store called %26quot;Dales Footworks%26quot; I haven%26#039;t been there in awhile %26amp; dont know anywhere else where they might sell this shoe.

It is a high heel dress shoe, it has plastic that goes across the lower part of your foot, open toe, open heel (slips on) but the bottom of it is suede (light brown/beige) so it is very comfortable. Once the plastic part on your foot warms from your body heat it becomes soft but not sweaty.

This is not a stripper shoe! In person it looks more like a granny shoe but once you put it on, it looks very elegant.

Any info is helpful! Please only serious answers!

How long should a standard Brake Shoe Set last?

The reason I ask is that I took my car (Ford Focus 1.8 TDi 1999) into National Tyres in November last year and they replaced the Brake Shoe Set but again in January this year they have replaced it again but they also used a Brake Fitting Kitt. Obviously I am going to ask them for a refund but i think there area manager is going to bull**** me.

How long should these parts last under normal usage? and why would they use a Brake Fitting Kit once but not the other time?

Please help the area manager is going to phone me soon !

How long should a standard Brake Shoe Set last?
Brake shoes should last about 60,000 miles or more, certainly more than a year anyway.

A brake shoe fitting kit consists of all the springs and retainers for the shoes but isn%26#039;t always needed as the old ones can be reused.
Reply:do you mean %26quot;shoes%26quot; or %26quot;pads%26quot; as there is a big difference !

My 10 year old Cherokee is still on the original set of back brake shoes , at 89,000 miles !

My friendly mechanic tells me that it`s normal for shoes to last for the same sort of mileage that will see 3 sets of pads off.!
Reply:Depends so much upon your standard of driving. Use the accelerator and brakes responsibly and it amazing how long they last. I admit that each of my last five cars each had disks all round but I have not had to renew any brake components . I have owned about thirty cars since 1970, many with brake shoes, and not once have I had to replace any item related to the brakes.
Reply:I find that generic brake shoes usually last about 6 months. The name brand shoes last a few years. There is no way you should need new brake shoes again if you just replaced them last November. Its possible they used the wrong type of brake shoe last year. Good luck.
Reply:depends on your driving habits..but brake shoes should last about 9 months to a year before they need to be looked at..

I would guess they did what is called ( pad slapping) they didnt look at the rotors or drums to your car which ever it has.. to early in the am for me at this time....

lets say you have rotors for the heck of it... it the rotors are grooved or in need of being turned and they skipped that part. your brakes would make alot of noise... once they turned the rotors or cut them.. they would have to put new pads on the car.. but since you said shoes.... the drums would need to be turned...

now if they are below specs you need new ones.. which cost some money..

I would go to another nation tire store.. you should have a warranty.... make the other shop fix them... or

you could be sneaky and goto a midas or meineke and ask them what is up.. before you speak with the manager of national tire.... just dont say anything like yeah I want you to tell me so I can yell at national tire.. they will be mad...

personally.. I would run over to midas or meineke see what they say is wrong.. then back out and head over to speak with the manager of national tire and tell him what they said
Reply:How long they last depends on how many miles they are rated for, but from what you are saying, I think your being done over good.
Reply:i think that the average brake shoe in normal use should last about 3500 to 7000 miles depending on how much you use them and how hard you apply them. hope that helps
Reply:i%26#039;ve had the shoes in my monte carlo last 120,000 miles but its going to depend on your braking habits.

Can anyone reccomend fashinable shoe shops in London for size 13 feet?

Shoe shopping in England is a nightmare for me as high street shops don%26#039;t snormally stock size 13 trainers. and the ones that do are really ugly or unfashionable. Does anyone know of any nice shops in London or parts of England to get trainers/loafers that are fashionable for a 23 year old dude?

A friend of mine is a giant and he buys all his stuff from the Netherlands. OK, it%26#039;s not England, but not too far and it%26#039;s worth it because, as I understand it, the Netherlands is the land of giants, there are many tall people there. I saw this diagram years ago when I was buying a really good pair of shoes. It shows a lot of body parts that are actually located on the bottom of a foot. How do I get rid of gum on my bowling shoe? It%26#039;s not on the part needed for sliding.?
either freeze it off with an ice cube or dry ice, or u can put peanut butter on there and it will dissolve the gum. u have to kinda work the peanut butter in, but it will work
Reply:Coconut oil

peanut butter

gasoline

WD40

Any solvent with a semi-volatile hydrocarbon

any light oil.

Use a rag and any of the above.
Reply:try using olive oil.
Reply:throw the shoe in the freezer overnight. chip the gum off in the morning. Then take 100 grit sandpaper to the leather sole to get it ready for bowling again.
Reply:ice or oil..depends on what part the gum is on...ice it and scrape it off...or oil it and rub it off...
Reply:I imagine you could use an Ice cube to freeze it so its hard and not gooey. Then scrape it off with a knife.
Reply:Put your shoe in the freezer (in a plastic bag or whatever to keep it away from your food of course).

After it%26#039;s been in there a few hours and the gum is good and frozen, take it out and snap the gum right off.

If you don%26#039;t have time to leave it in the freezer for awhie try using ice to freeze it up and get it off that way although it%26#039;s a bit harder and messier than the freezer method.

Shoe size, hand and finger length, size of the nose etc vs. penis size?

For the longest time, I have been bothered by claims about the size of one%26#039;s manhood with respect to dimensions of the other parts of the man%26#039;s body.

I am 5 foot and one inches( ok, 1 and 1/4), my shoe size is 6, which makes me so mad when purchasing shoes since men%26#039;s store only carry size 7 to start, and my hands are also small.

In fact, my female officemate, who is 5%26#039; 7%26quot; was so intrigued by my hands that we actually placed are our hands palm to palm and hers was even longer than mine. On the other hand, I am bothered that my penis size is a little over eight (8%26quot;) inches long. I always though that I was abnormal; sort of a freak. I have always worn briefs and towels in gym and PE classes and will not take showers with other boys or men. I am aware though that sometimes that they look at me %26#039;funny%26#039; which makes it even worse for me.

In any case I was just wondering if there are other short men like me out there. I am not very sexually active nor am I gay. I am Asian living in CA.

Shoe size, hand and finger length, size of the nose etc vs. penis size?
There is no real correlation to penis size and other body parts. naturally, if you%26#039;re 8ft tall, you are likely to have a larger penis than a guy who is 5ft, but in respect to his body size, his penis wouldn%26#039;t really be any true relation. I%26#039;m 5%26#039;10 and my hands are a bit smaller than most guys, but my penis is above average in size[7 1/2%26quot;] when compared to other guys my height. If i were you and possesed an 8%26quot;, i wouldn%26#039;t hesitate to walk around proudly in a locker room/gym. I think you may be bothered that your height is small and your manhood is large in relation to your body size. Most guys would love to have your %26quot;problem%26quot;.
Reply:I dont guess it matters if your gay or asian, but i beleive in general that large features like hands, nose, feet may indicate the size of your sex organ. I wouldnt worry though, its much worse to be a big man and have small endowment since most people would think a big man has big sex organ.
Reply:Hello - If I were you with an eight incher, I%26#039;d put it to use. Lots of women out there would welcome you.

Don%26#039;t be concerned about the other parts of your body, focus on what makes women happy.
Reply:Oh jeez, that was wayyyyyy to much information from the guy above me....no one wants to read all that, come on!

You shouldn%26#039;t worry about your penis size. All in all, it sounds like to me you are perfect the way you are. What is kinda funny is the stereotype that Asian men have small penises and you are here to prove everybody wrong on that myth, too.

Just be proud of you and what is between your legs.

Just about every guy wonders how he measures up in the “down-there” department at one time or another. Here’s the lowdown for any guy who’s ever worried about whether his penis is a normal size.

There’s a fairly wide range of normal penis sizes - just as there is for every other body part. And just like other parts of the body, how a penis appears at different stages of a guy’s life varies quite a bit. You wouldn’t expect someone who is 11 years old to look the same as someone who’s 19.

Guys normally develop at different times. Some may start developing as early as 9. Others may not start developing until 15 or even later. The age at which a guy starts to grow varies from person to person. It all depends on when he enters puberty and his hormones start doing their thing.

Growth in penis size is just one part of puberty, which also includes such changes as pubic hair development, testicular growth, muscle development, and a growth spurt. Late starters almost always catch up fine - they just reach full maturity a little later.

Penises come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. These traits are hereditary, like eye color or foot size, and there’s nothing you can do to change them. Despite what you may hear or read, no special exercises, supplements, or diets will speed up the development process or change a guy’s size. Also, like his feet, a guy’s penis may appear smaller to him just because the perspective is different when he’s looking down. And there’s a lot less difference in penis size between guys when they get an erection (a “*****” or “hard on”) than when their penises are relaxed.

In addition to size, guys also wonder about other aspects of how their penises look, such as whether the skin covering the penis is normal or if it’s OK for a guy’s penis to hang to the left or right (it is!). If you’re concerned about how your penis looks, ask your doctor. Guys who are reaching puberty should have regular testicular exams, so that’s a good time to ask your doctor any questions.

Taking a ride on the hormonal roller-coaster means lots of changes - and a lot of common worries - for both guys and girls. Just as guys may wonder about how their penises develop, lots of girls ask the same thing about their breasts.

If you’re wondering about your development, don’t try to compare yourself to your older brother or your best friend - they’re probably at a different stage of development than you are anyway. The important thing to remember is that it’s OK to not be a mirror image of the guy at the next urinal.

Get out the tweezers and the microscope :)

You probably have a good sense of where you fit in the distribution of size for

more commonly visible measurements of body size: height, size of hands, feet,

weight and so on. However, unless you spend a lot of time in a nudist

environment, there are, understandably other measurements for which you don’t

have a good sense of where you fit. Penis size is an obvious example. It’s also

one that can make a lot of people uncomfortable. They worry about whether they

are abnormal, “too small,” “too large,” and so on. As with most characteristics

of human anatomy, there is a lot of individual variation. You can differ

substantially from average without being unusual or freakish and without any

need for concern or medical intervention. If you have concerns, by all means

consult a doctor, but chances are good that you have nothing to worry about.

On the other hand, there is always a fascination with people who are

significantly different for the normal range. This applies to height and

weight, size of hands and feet, and, yes, also to penis size. So what

is “normal”? Surprisingly, perhaps, given how common concerns about penis size

seem to be, there are very little good data based on large samples. There are

data, though, and the numbers seem to agree well enough to suggest that the

sample size must be large enough to give reasonably accurate measures of

averages and distributions.

There are additional links there to other studies as well.

The average length of an erect penis (measured along the top) is 16.1 cm (6.34

in).

90% of measurements fall between 10 and 21 cm (4 and 8.25 in).

The average girth of an erect penis is 12.3 cm (4.84 in).

The average length of the flaccid penis is about 9 cm (3.5 in) with most

measurements falling between 5 cm (2 in) and 12.5 cm (5 in).

These numbers appear to be approximately independent of such parameters as age

(post-puberty) and nationality despite any anecdotal information you may have

heard to the contrary, though reliable data on such variations is quite limited.

You can decide what “big” is, but just as you probably wouldn’t particularly

label someone as “tall” unless they were in the top few percent, you probably

wouldn’t want to label someone’s penis as “big” unless it was larger than the

normal ranges quoted above (greater than 21 cm erect length, 12.5 cm flaccid

length). There also appears to be a large variability in the ratio of the erect

length to flaccid length. Average is about 1.8, but ratios from about 1 to 4

are not uncommon.

You can turn up a lot of additional reading material on this subject with a Google search :

Average penis size

I hope this information helps you to better understand what is “normal”

and “big.” Again, if you have concerns, consult your doctor. You may also see

many advertisements for companies that claim to help you increase penis size. I

would caution you against considering their services because of questionable

efficacy in many cases, and because it is unlikely that there is any real

reason why you should need to change your size.

Your penis is too big, if your woman says it hurts her.

But not all woman can take the same size of penis.

So, the conclusion is:

-If your partner says it is too big, then it is. For her/him.

Beware of penis-enlargement scams

Considering penis enlargement? Don%26#039;t waste your money on ineffective and possibly dangerous male-enhancement pills, pumps, exercises and surgeries.

If you%26#039;ve seen the %26quot;Austin Powers%26quot; movies, you may have laughed at Austin for owning a penis-enlargement pump. But you also may have been thinking, %26quot;Hmm. I wonder if something like that could give me an extra inch or two.%26quot;

Penis-enlargement products aren%26#039;t difficult to find. Men%26#039;s magazines, sports radio shows and Internet sites are filled with advertisements for pumps, pills, weights, exercises and surgeries — all of which supposedly can increase the length and width (girth) of your penis. Even if you%26#039;ve never visited an Internet porn site, you%26#039;ve likely received many unsolicited e-mails for products and services that promise to make you more of a man.

These come-ons are based on several stereotypes about men%26#039;s insecurities. The %26quot;male enhancement%26quot; industry assumes that every man:

·Is afraid he has a small penis

·Believes he%26#039;d be a better lover if he had a bigger penis

·Is looking for a way to safely and effectively increase his penis size

Don%26#039;t fall for it. No scientific research supports the use of any nonsurgical method to enlarge the penis, and no reputable medical society endorses penis-enlargement surgery performed for purely cosmetic reasons. Because many of these techniques can damage your penis and even cause impotence, think twice before trying any of them.

Penis size: What%26#039;s normal, what%26#039;s not?

When you were a boy, a locker room bully may have taunted you about the size of your penis. As you compared yourself with other boys in the shower, you may have concluded that he was right. A cylinder-shaped object such as a penis always looks smaller when viewed from above than it does when viewed from the side.

As you grew older, you may have seen super-sized penises in X-rated movies and magazines. Such experiences may have left you with a distorted image of what%26#039;s normal and what%26#039;s not.

Most likely, your size is perfectly normal. Research shows that more than 70 percent of men have penises that measure between 5 and 7 inches when erect. A penis is considered abnormally small only if it measures less than 3 inches when erect, and even then it might not matter. Researchers have documented many cases in which men with so-called micropenises have been fully capable of having sex and fathering children.

The partner perspective: How they view penis size

E-mail advertisements would have you believe that women care deeply about penis size. But women responding to magazine surveys say they don%26#039;t care about size at all.

What%26#039;s the truth? A Dutch study of 375 sexually active women who had recently given birth suggests that the surveys are accurate — to a point. Seventy-nine percent of the women said that penis length is unimportant, and 69 percent of them said the same about penis girth.

E-mail advertisements would also have you believe that gay men are obsessed with penis size. But individual preferences vary. Average penis size is the same in both gay and straight men.

So, unless your partner tells you otherwise, it%26#039;s probably safe to assume that you%26#039;re fine just the way you are. Understanding your partner%26#039;s physical and emotional needs and desires may do far more to improve your sexual relationship than would changing the size of your penis.

Nonsurgical methods of penis enlargement

Marketers offer many different types of nonsurgical penis enlargement, and often promote them with serious-looking advertisements that include endorsements from %26quot;scientific%26quot; researchers.

But if you look and read closely, you%26#039;ll see that claims of safety and effectiveness are completely groundless. Because no reputable scientific research validates any type of nonsurgical penis enlargement, marketers rely on testimonials and before-and-after photos that may not be authentic.

At the bottom of such advertisements, you%26#039;ll usually find a sentence such as %26quot;These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.%26quot; Well, of course they haven%26#039;t been. The Food and Drug Administration, the government agency that regulates medications and medical devices, has never approved any medications or devices for enlarging a penis.

There are four basic types of nonsurgical penis enlargement:

·Manual stretching or squeezing (jelquing). These exercises are supposed to be performed 30 minutes a day for an indefinite period of time. Although they may be safer than other methods, they can lead to scar formation, pain and disfigurement.

·Stretching with penile weights. This technique is very likely to cause permanent penile damage.

·Vacuum pumps. Because pumps draw blood into the penis and make it swell, they%26#039;re useful in the treatment of impotence (erectile dysfunction). This may create an illusion of a larger penis, but results are seldom permanent. Repeated use can damage elastic tissue in the penis, leading to less-firm erections.

·Pills and lotions. These usually contain vitamins, minerals, herbs or hormones such as testosterone. Although topical testosterone is sometimes used on adolescent boys to accelerate puberty, there%26#039;s no evidence that it or any other substance can increase penis size in adult men. In 2002, authorities in the state of Arizona seized the assets of a penis-pill company, in part because the owners fraudulently claimed their product would deliver a permanent gain of 1 to 3 inches. The company owners also refused to honor their money-back guarantee, committing yet another fraud.

Surgical methods of penis enlargement

Suspensory ligament

Cosmetic surgeons have developed several different enlargement techniques, none of them endorsed by medical organizations. The American Urological Association, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons have all issued policy statements against cosmetic surgical procedures to enhance the penis.

To lengthen a penis, surgery typically involves snipping the suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone and moving skin from the abdomen to the penile shaft. The suspensory ligament stabilizes and gives an upward tilt to an erect penis.

When this ligament is cut, the penis may look longer because more of it hangs outside the body. But cutting the suspensory ligament can cause an erect penis to wobble and position itself at odd angles, particularly when erect.

Surgery to make the penis thicker involves suctioning fat from a fleshy part of the body and injecting the fat into the penis. Another technique is simply to graft fat cut away from the buttocks or abdomen onto the penile shaft. Some practitioners use tissue from cadavers.

None of these techniques have been shown to be safe or effective. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons describes injecting fat into the penis as %26quot;a new and unproven cosmetic procedure of unknown safety%26quot; with potential risks that include infection, skin or sensory loss, excessive bleeding and loss of function.

Surgeons have developed another technique — albugineal surgery with bilateral saphenous grafts — that involves grafting blood vessels from elsewhere in the body to the penis in order to increase blood flow and penis width during erection. An Italian study of 39 men who underwent the surgery for cosmetic reasons found that it increased width by an average of one-half inch without complications. These men may have been lucky.

Following various types of cosmetic penile enhancement surgery, some men have had to undergo additional operations to correct deformities caused by the original procedure. The ill effects include scarring, shorter penises, hair on the base of the penis, low-hanging penis, loss of sensitivity, and bumps, lumps, and clumps of fat. Other complaints include impotence, urinary incontinence and persistent pain.

Then there%26#039;s the cost: about $10,000 for a typical penis-enlargement surgery that doesn%26#039;t require additional corrective surgery. Because cosmetic surgery is seldom covered by insurance, you%26#039;ll likely have to bear the entire expense.

When surgery may be an option

Surgeons have devised reconstructive procedures for penises that have been amputated or damaged by circumcisions, animal bites, motor vehicle accidents and physical assaults, among other causes. A penis can be constructed in sex-change operations and to correct birth defects.

And this might work: Achieve a healthy body weight

One place that size might count is your abdomen — not your penis. If your lower abdomen hangs over your genitalia, you might look as if you have a shorter, smaller penis than you actually do. Fat can obscure some or much of the upper part of the penis. For this, the best treatment is to achieve a healthy weight.

Reply:You know what they say right about big noses ?

Big hands ? Big feet ? Being tall ?

Big noses = bigger boogers

Big hands = bigger gloves

Big feet = bigger shoes

Being tall = longer jeans

There is no scientific reasoning done to show that ANY of these show for having a bigger penis. If that was the case an ex of mine would have been HUGE as he stands 6%26#039;8 and only barely had a 5 inch penis !

I think you shouldnt worry about it and get on with the rest of your life.
Reply:I have heared that the wide is your forehead, the big is your penis. The long are your finger, the penis is the same. Now, if your penis is less than 9cms long, your are not in big trouble, yet. The size has nothing to do with pleasure. You are not abnormal, my friend. Just act normal when take a shower in front of others, or just wear breafs. Be a man!!! Good luck!!!
Reply:Overall, you are a bit on the small size but not unusually so. In fact, I suspect many people would find you to be quite attractive. And as to your above average penis, you are living proof that penis size and the size of other body parts bear no relationship to each other. So, even though you could be deemed disproportionate, you are far from being a freak. In my opinion you are as perfect as mother nature intended you be.

As for not going naked in gyms or other places where men tend to congregate in the buff, the heck with it. Strip off and let them look if they want to. You certainly have nothing to be ashamed about or embarassed of. And if anyone thinks you are too big in the penis department, all you have to do is believe they are jealous (which in fact I bet they are since the average guy is about 6 inches). And if they think you arer small otherwise, well, maybe you are but as long as you keep fit, get lots of exercise, eat right and othe rthigns, you are goign to present a physique that is perfect and should be admired not hidden.

How do I get shoe marks off of the back part of my indoror stairs that are painted off white?

I have tried Mr. Clean Erasers and they didn%26#039;t work. Any other ideas?

How do I get shoe marks off of the back part of my indoror stairs that are painted off white?
clorox spray with bleach-start out with a small area to check if it will be condusive to the scuff marks.

i use it on almost everything and its amazing how much stuff it can clean away.
Reply:the only solution I would have is go get a quart of matching paint and touch it up. be sure that you use the exact same paint and color, or else you%26#039;ll end up painting EVERYTHING. A good paint department will be able to match the color EXACTLY. Go to a real paint store, like Kelly-Moore or Sherwin Williams. Home Depot and Lowe%26#039;s have paint depts., however the people that run them aren%26#039;t as well versed in paint as a %26quot;paint store%26quot;. You wouldn%26#039;t go to a car salesman to have dental work done, would you? BTW, Kelly-Moore is the only one I know that still has a %26quot;tinted%26quot; base to start with (usually white). This is important because it covers better. The other places use a clear base, then add color to it. that%26#039;s also a good thing to know if you decide to repaint the walls later on. you can take a knife and chip off some paint at least the size of a quarter, the bigger the better, in an inconspicuous place that has the same color. If it%26#039;s big enough, they%26#039;ll be able to match the finish just as easily. If you have one of the posts, spindles, whatever, that can easily be removed....take that. good luck.
Reply:One thing you MIGHT try is alcohol. Test it in an inconspicuous spot first, because it may dull the finish. I have used alcohol (or acetone, same thing as in nail polish remover) to get rid of marks and dirt like that. The alcohol actually is a solvent for dried latex, so in effect by rubbing a paper towel soaked in alcohol you can %26quot;repaint%26quot; the area. I usually use this method to remove dirt and marks, as well as grease, from an area about to be repainted, but it does make the marks disappear. Just make sure to try it on a hidden area first to see what happens to the paint. Acetone is very good at dissolving dried latex.

If that does not work, then the only thing you can do is to get some paint matched to the color, and that means finding a piece about an inch square or bigger to take to a paint store to color match it, making sure to note whether it is eggshell, satin, semi gloss, or high gloss paint.

I bought some dunlop volley/converse type shoes with out the high ankle parts, what do I do with the laces...?

and what socks are good to wear with it?

They are brown and are like the volleys in the converse style (except not converse brand) with the high ankle part you see in most cut off.

I have a pair just like that. There are many ways to do the laces... besides the completely normal way.

I%26#039;ve seen them simply taken off. It makes them look more carefree and worn.

Or you can tie each into individual knots at the edge of the holes, so they%26#039;re tight enough, but you can just slip them on and off.

Another way is to make the laces go straight across to the opposite hole, rather than criss-crossed, like normally. That%26#039;s my favorite.

Some people put in different laces, as well. That can work, depending on your style.

As for socks, that depends on your style as well. If you%26#039;re into punk rock dressing, I%26#039;ve seen them look cool with skull socks and such.

I%26#039;m not into dressing like that, so I wear mine either without socks, with bright colored tube socks with white stripes at the top, or really small socks that don%26#039;t even stick out of the tops of them.

It%26#039;s up to you. There are so many ways to wear them.

Mazda Protege: Uneven Brake shoe wear?

I recently checked the rear drum brake shoe of my mazda protege 2000 (ES) and it looks like its having un even wear pattern. The Leading Shoe is Ok at the top but completey worn out at the bottom, While trailing shoe shows looks ok and has uniform wear. I heard that self adjusting screw may not be working propery (not lubricated properly), but i doubt that protege has any such screw. I am planning to replace the brake shoe myself this weekend, but slightly affraid as i am not sure what causing this uneven brake wear. It may happen in new brake shoe also. I think i need to apply some grease to some parts, but not sure what those are?

Mazda Protege: Uneven Brake shoe wear?
Some uneven brake shoe wear is common and normal with non-servo brakes. As far as what you need to grease, use anti-seize on the backing plates where the shoes contact (there will be 3 or 4 flat spots on the backing plate per shoe) Also, your car does have an adjuster screw (assuming all the parts are present) look for a cylinder that extends between the shoes, with a star wheel on it. Unscrew the star wheel and anti-seize the threads, and the cap on the other end where it need to spin. This will make it easier to adjust. Once you are done installing the new shoes, stick the drums on and adjust the brakes to have slight and even (side to side) drag. Double check the adjustment by pulling the e-brake, spec is 5-7 clicks. Also, I advise doing one side at a time, so you have a reference as to how it should look. Don%26#039;t mix up parts side to side. Also, you should turn the drums. Most parts stores can do this for a nominal fee.
Reply:The brake drums may be worn down.

Consider replacing them as well.
Reply:Some brake shoes, beacause of their quality maybe too hard and are cutting away at your drums therefore causing uneven wear also hand brake adjustment may be not equal. check amount of wear and if it looks too bad replace drums because they will shorten the life of your new shoes.

Mazda Protege - Cost of brake system parts and labour charges?

I got my Mazda Protege car inspected for a general health checkup and I have been given a big list of parts that need to be replaced and a bill of $1000. The parts needed to be replaced include: Brake Pad, Brake Shoe, Brake Rotor, Brake Drum, Collant etc.

I got my car inspected at Sears Autos. Can someone please suggest if it is a right idea to go ahead with this or shall I get my car inspected somewhere else.

Also is there any place where I can get spares at low prices and a place where the installation chagres would be low. Please provide pointers to lower down this cost

Mazda Protege - Cost of brake system parts and labour charges?
You are getting ripped off badly if this is only brakes.

Here is a list of parts from one of my suppliers ( NAPA Auto Parts ) and the retail prices of these parts:

***You did not list a year, so I used a 2002 model with a 1.4L engine on my parts look up.

NTS TS7670 Brake Pads - Front, $28.95

ALT D1011DP Brake Shoes - Rear, $53.60

NUP 86318 Brake Rotor Only - Front $60.79

NUP 98462 Brake Drum - Rear $23.95

Now figure on 2 Rotors and 2 drums, and I think a safe assumption can be made that we can add a rear hardware kit art $21.95 and let me go crazy and add two wheel cylinders at $21.89 each and lets call throw in $10 for brake fluid.

You come up with a retail cost of parts of $327.76 for parts

If you exclude wheel cylinders which I only added trying to make figure out the worst case here, you are only looking at 2 hours labor and 3 hours labor if you you figure in the wheel cylinders.

So it looks like they want over $300 per hour for labour :)

I would take your car somewhere else.

I am sure that you are going to find out that you are being ripped off very badly ... I seriously doubt that it needs all of those parts at one time.
Reply:I recommend not doing all the repairs at just one shop. Instead, get another price quote for just the front brakes at an http://www.pepboys.com for example, and have that done there. Then find a good local independent shop in your neighborhood to have the coolant flushed. http://www.iatn.com Finally, try your Mazda car dealer for any warranty work or a good oil change.

Anyway to clean the mesh part of a sneaker (white shoe)?

A stick went right into it and dragged up a bit causing a brown streak on the mesh part of my sneaker. To make it worse I decided to try to wipe it off with some napkins and a dab of water that were sitting around... but the napkin must have had some die of some sort... so now there%26#039;s this color smear.

Do you know anything that might could help restore some of the whiteness?

Thanks for any help.

Anyway to clean the mesh part of a sneaker (white shoe)?
Sneaker white..at walmart

Or Bleach with a tooth brush and rinse with water.
Reply:Put some Dawn dish soap on a clean white cloth %26amp; rub vigorously in circular motions, then rinse with a warm wet white cloth. The shoelaces can be soaked in hot water %26amp; Dawn dish soap also, for a while. After soaking them for a few minutes, remove them from the water, rub them vigorously, then return them to soak. Later, rinse with warm water. Squeeze dry inside paper towel, then hang to dry.
Reply:Okay, you need to get a paper towel or rag cloth and then spray a little bit of bleach or dispatch on it and wipe the smear with it. It will sure restore the white color of your sneaker.
Reply:Just wash them in the washing machine. Don%26#039;t dry them.. just set them out to dry. It works.. just don%26#039;t do it too often it will turn the rubber part yellow. Good Luck
Reply:Drycleaning solvent. Almost gauranteed.

What does something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe mean?

And why is it use when people get married. I looked it up on the internet and the last part a sixpence in her shoe finished it and i just want to know what it means. Because i want my wedding to cover most of the traditional things with a taste of my flavor to finish it off.

What does something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe mean?
From this site http://nhnh.essortment.com/weddingceremo...

The original saying dates back to the Victoria times and states, %26quot;Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in your shoe.%26quot;

Something old. . .

A bride may wear or carry something old to represent her continued ties to her family and her old life. Many brides wear a piece of family jewelry as their old item. Some brides wear the wedding dress worn by their mother or grandmother. In many cases, something old may also be something borrowed.

Something new. . .

Wearing something new is supposed to represent success and hope in the bride%26#039;s new life and in her marriage. If the bride purchased her wedding dress new, it may represent her new item, but any item that is new may be used. Something ‘new%26#039; is usually the easiest category to fill.

Something borrowed . . .

The borrowed item should be something borrowed from a friend that is happily married. It is suggested that their happiness will rubb off on you and bring lasting happiness to your marriage. Some brides borrow an item of clothing, a piece of jewelry, a handkerchief or perhaps a beaded purse.

Something blue. . .

Wearing something blue dates back to biblical times when a blue wedding dress was worn to represent purity, fidelity and love. Over time this has changed from wearing a blue dress to wearing just a blue band around the bottom of the bride%26#039;s wedding dress to modern times - where it is commonplace for the bride to wear a blue garter.

Silver sixpence. . .

Placing a silver sixpence in the bride%26#039;s left shoe is said to be a symbol of wealth. This not only refers to financial wealth, but also a wealth of happiness and joy throughout her married life. Since most brides probably don%26#039;t even know what a sixpence is - this part of the tradition is not used very often in modern times. However, if you would like to include it in your wedding, you can purchase a silver sixpence from many companies that sell bridal supplies such as garters and invitations.

ETA: In amercica we just use a penny instead of a sixpense, they are hard to come by.
Reply:It%26#039;s a tale of good luck for the bride. I never heard the last part before. I think most people stick to the something new, old, borrowed, and blue part. Best Wishes!
Reply:Something Old... This is thought to refer to the Bride%26#039;s old life and her family. Though she is signifying leaving them behind by wearing something old, she is showing that she still remembers them. Also thought to be linking her to the other women in her family by carrying one of their heirloom possessions.

Something New... Wearing something new represents the hopeful success and good fortune in the Bride%26#039;s new life. Also thought to represent fertility of the mind and of the relationship.

Something Borrowed... Borrowing an item already worn by a happy Bride is believed to pass on the good luck. You can also borrow from anyone special to you if you follow the supposition that the act of borrowing signifies a support group in times of need.

Something Blue... Blue is a sign of purity and of good health. This follows the long tradition of Brides being pure on their wedding day and their commitment to their future husbands.

And A Silver Sixpence... This represents wealth - not just financial wealth, but spiritual wealth, happiness and good luck throughout their married life. sometimes represented in the pagan traditions by Flax, Fodder and Food. Signs of abundance.

I would suggest using a dime, they are the same size as a silver sixpence.....
Reply:Just an old wives tale for getting luck for the bride.
Reply:A sixpence is a coin from England--small amount, like a penny. Women put them in their shoes--in the US we use pennies.

Which one do you think man invented first, shoes or cover for private parts?

I think the Loin/Breech cloth came first. As an example, some of the tribes in South America where a loin cloth, but don%26#039;t where shoes.

Which one do you think man invented first, shoes or cover for private parts?
Im going to have to say the loincloth, because it takes a lot more time to develop a callus on the naughty bits.
Reply:I would guess shoes, what do you think?
Reply:well, i%26#039;d say clothes if your a christian, or of any religion with a creation myth, and then shoes if your a darwinist. shoes are totally necessary for a pastoral or hunting and gathering lifestyle. and clothes just keep you covered because you are sashamed. of course, as man is runing, things tend to flop around and clothes keep things from bouncing all over the pladce. plus like, it gets cold and stuff so you%26#039;d need stuff to keep your body warm.
Reply:Cover for private parts, I suppose. There%26#039;s nothing to be ashamed of in going barefoot, and there are words that the earliest humans felt ashamed of what they%26#039;ve done that they made leaves as cover for their private parts because by then, their eyes were opened to malice for the first time. And there are still our brothers who go on without shoes but with loin clothes; that%26#039;s how they%26#039;ve lived as long as they can remember and that should be proof enough that men invented covers first.
Reply:Headband!
Reply:The first coverings are believed to be worn over the head, covering the back and chest, so i suppose if you wore it long it would cover your genitals first.
Reply:probably shoes. I%26#039;ll call my Amish friend on the phone and ask him.
Reply:cover for privates, because I%26#039;ve seen tribal people barefoot but covering their private parts.
Reply:mmmmm taps
Reply:Probably shoes... because the %26quot;Man%26quot; still wanted to get a scope out before they all wised up...
Reply:Probably private parts protection. My thinking is that the privates are probably more sensitive (at leas in my experience) than the feet are. Feet toughen up with no shoes, and thick soles were probably enough for protestion from basic rock and stick obstacles. Now, imagine a twig or pricker bush brushing against or snapping into your testicle. I%26#039;d want that covered first! It has NOTHING to do with modesty.
Reply:I think that man invented shoes first. Rocks and sticks are really hard on the feet.

Removing shoes when entering another's home in parts of North America...?

when did this start to become common, particularly with people of European descent? Somehow, I don%26#039;t picture this commonly having been practised among people of European descent prior to the 20th century...but perhaps I%26#039;m wrong. Did the era of wall-to-wall carpets have something to do with this etiquette, or was it something acquired from cultures where shoe removal is common? Did the 60s era have something to do with it? Thanks.

Removing shoes when entering another%26#039;s home in parts of North America...?
I think it started off being more popular in the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries. It does seem to be more popular to do it in other parts of Europe than in the UK. I still have loads of friends that insist on wearing their shoes in my apartment and give me funny looks if i ask them to take them off.

Most people in the UK do it now for practical reasons, ie not to damage or mess up the floors but I think in the other parts of Europe it started off more as a custom, like taking your coat off when you come indoors. Shoes are meant for outdoors. Allot of people like to leave them on purely for vanity reasons i think. Or they are scared their feet will smell up the persons house! lol
Reply:That is a good answer from Happy Hippie.

Here in the UK, removing shoes is not that common. However, I always ask people to remove their shoes when visiting my house. It really does make a difference to keeping homes clean. Report It

Reply:I have no clue. I know its in Asian culture. I never go to a few friends%26#039; house without removing my shoes first. But I always take off my shoes %26#039;cause I hate when the floor gets dirty! But I never thought of it before. Maybe wall-to-wall carpeting does have its effect.
Reply:I think in N America it%26#039;s mostly to keep the floors clean and not track in dirt.
Reply:I think once people started getting nicer floors it became common. In the olden days many had dirt floors or poor wooden floors - I think as homes became nicer it became customary to remove your shoes.
Reply:I can say this: in cold and snowy regions of North America, it is simply a practical matter. We lived in Alaska for quite some time, and between Oct and Mar, if you wear ANY shoes inside from out, you will leave muddy tracks, no matter where you were. So, you begin to get used to it. We never took off our shoes, until our first winter in AK, and we realized either take off the shoes, or spend the weekends steam cleaning the carpets. It just stuck after that and it DOES make the carpets stay cleaner longer.
Reply:In Europe it is only done by beastly little middle-class proles who don%26#039;t know any better. America probably the same.

In Middle Eastern countries it is the custom.
Reply:When people come to my house I request that they remove their shoes. In my house it evolved from having hard wood floors and light carpeting and a distaste for lugging the vacuum out. My family members don%26#039;t make people take off their shoes, so in my case it has nothing to do with the 60s era. I suppose everyone is different.
Reply:people don%26#039;t want dirt, mud, snow, wet prints, on their rug, and floors.
Reply:Well, it certainly is a cleaner practice. I%26#039;m an American with tile floors in a tropical climate, so I just sweep often. However, when traveling Northeastern Europe, all my friends, their families, and their friends all had cabinets in their entry halls with places to put shoes, and a cabinet full of slippers for their guests. From the way it was explained to me, the custom was adopted by many early northeastern Europeans through trade with Asia (mainly by the early Muscovites) and made a good deal of sense to a people living in a snowy climate.

I gotta tell ya, the homey, welcome feeling you get when you show up as a visitor to someone%26#039;s home and they present you with warm, comfy slippers as soon as you get in the door is unparalleled. I suspect that, to many of those people who have very strong hospitality traditions, that aspect of the tradition is as weighty as the floor-maintenance aspect.
Reply:When you spend good money on carpet or hardwood floors you don%26#039;t want anyone just tracing in there with a bunch of dirt on their shoes.

HAIRSPRAY. It dissolves ink.

Don%26#039;t know why, but when I heard that, I tried it on several garments and it worked!!

.

How do i get blue ink off the rubber part of a tennis shoe,i tried bleach didnt work!?
try to do buy a bottle of shoe whitener it is really inexpensive and it works. You should be able to pick one up at about any store but to save time go to Wal-Mart. LOL
Reply:If you use hair spray be sure it is the aerosol kind, the pump doesn%26#039;t work as well.
Reply:There is a product I used to use called Ink Eradicator. Don%26#039;t know if it%26#039;s still available.
Reply:Try hairspray....it works great for ink removal.
Reply:I myself would go the cheap way and use the same color nail polish to cover it up.I do not think anything will get it out. Good luck
Reply:try rubbing alcohol.... or hairspray

if that doesnt work, try goofoff... its an all-purpose remover
Reply:Hmm you could try dousing cotton wool in milk and trying to rub it off that way.
Reply:one guarantee method is to use a product called metholhydrate. use in a ventilated area and away from flames. It evaporates fast and so does the smell. It will for sure clean the area your looking to and wont discolour or melt your shoe.

Is there such thing as a custom shoe maker?

I was watching the movie %26#039;In Her Shoes%26#039; and there%26#039;s a part in the movie where Cameron

Diaz%26#039;s charicter is wearing a t-shirt and these gorgeous peep toe boots. I%26#039;ve tried searching for them but they%26#039;re nowhere to be found. So I was wondering if there%26#039;s such thing as going to a custom shoe maker to have a similar boot made.

Also:

If anybody knows which shoe I%26#039;m talking about and can point me in the right direction to get them, I would be so appreciative.

They kinda look like this.

Thanks!

A question for ladies only: What kind of shoe?

1) What is the most you have spent on a pair of %26quot;fashion%26quot; shoes....i.e. heels, sandals, boots, sexy shoes.. Not sneakers

2)What is more important to you in a shoe style or comfort?

3)Do you travel and wish you had the ability to carry less shoes with you but not have to sacrifice your style options?

4)Is your closet filled with shoes? Half being shoes you wear only a few times a year?5)If you could take one shoe and transform it from one print (lets say black) to a sexy leopard print within one minute and it would look seamless and sexy would you be interested in that shoe line? If not why? What would you want to see in a shoe?5)Would you be more likely to buy this shoe line if you knew part of the purchase price was going to a womens charity? Also, would it intrigue you to know the story behind the shoe line....a woman inventing, patenting, and making her dream come true no matter the challenges she faced? Would that encourage you to believe in your dreams as well? Be blunt! thanks

Knee-length boots $200.

2)What is more important to you in a shoe style or comfort?

Both, but to be honest, if the shoe is very comfortable but not stylish at all, i wouldn%26#039;t buy it.

3)Do you travel and wish you had the ability to carry less shoes with you but not have to sacrifice your style options?

I don%26#039;t travel a lot, but when i go on holidays, i don%26#039;t bring many shoes, i choose pairs which would suit most outfits.

4)Is your closet filled with shoes? Half being shoes you wear only a few times a year?

Yes, beacuse there is the right type of shoe for every occasion.

5)If you could take one shoe and transform it from one print (lets say black) to a sexy leopard print within one minute and it would look seamless and sexy would you be interested in that shoe line? If not why? What would you want to see in a shoe?

No, i hate leopard prints. i think they look outdated.

What would i want to see in a shoe? well, basically- comfort, that they elongate my legs and that the cut embellishes my feet. Also, i%26#039;d want the material to be good quality and long-lasting.

6)Would you be more likely to buy this shoe line if you knew part of the purchase price was going to a womens charity?

Yes, but it depends on the price.

Also, would it intrigue you to know the story behind the shoe line....a woman inventing, patenting, and making her dream come true no matter the challenges she faced? Would that encourage you to believe in your dreams as well?

To tell you the truth...it wouldn%26#039;t interest me, but if i was forced to listen to the story, yes it would probably encourage me.

5) The rest of your questions, probably not, cause when I go into a store I just see what looks good on me and then purchase.

1. like $100

2.seriously, both...depends on WHAT kind of shoes you%26#039;re shopping for though...if you%26#039;re looking for sexy shoes, you KNOW they%26#039;re going to be painful a bit!

3.nope, i don%26#039;t travel now...but that%26#039;s one of my goals in the near future...to TRAVEL WHILE I%26#039;M YOUNG! but, uh, yea, that would be nice to travel but not sacrifice my my style options..

4. hell YEA IT IS! half of my HUGE closet IS shoes... yes...most I don%26#039;t wear that often...yes...that would be deluxe to be able to do that to my shoes....yes charity%26#039;s always a good thing...HEY....is this about YOU???

Reply:the most i ever spent was $220 on a pair of adorable black boots. i had them for 10 years wearing them 3 times.lol. comfort is way more important to me.i don%26#039;t travel far, but i do wish i didnt need 3 pairs of shoes for 4 days of wearing(work boots for work, running shoes to get to and from work, sandals, then a pair of hiking boots)YES i have 20 pairs of shoes, some of them not worn in years, but i can%26#039;t bear to get rid of good quaily shoes! yes i would b interested, if it was a comfortable shoe in a wide width. yes i would be more likely to buy shoes if the money REALLY went to charity. and i would like to know the story. i watch a show called women on top, and it showcases women who have risen to the top of their fields. im not sure it would help with belief in my dreams tho.... maybe for younger women.
Reply:1- Fur boots, they were like $65. I%26#039;m really cheap about shoes because they always get screwed up or turn out not to be comfortable.

2- A combo of both. I like something that will last a while but is still comfortable and a little more classic in style.

3- For travel i bring a few good shoes and a bunch of cheap flipflops in like every color cause they don%26#039;t take up alot of space.

4-yes alot of my shoes are seasonal and i really wish i had way more.

5- I don%26#039;t really know what you mean. I want a shoe that is reasonably priced, somewhat comfy and really CUTE.

6- This prob. wouldn%26#039;t affect my decision b/c i%26#039;m looking at the shoe/price not where it%26#039;s going. Not really i%26#039;m looking for a more contemporary good advertising style. That whole own pattening thing makes me thing grandma, no idea why.

Reasearch for a shoe line. Ladies what are you looking for in a shoe?
1) $80

2) Comfort!

3) I used to travel 14 weeks/year. I learned to take 2 pairs of different color shoes and suits that matched them to alternate between days.

4) I have over 20 pairs of shoes. The ones I don%26#039;t wear often are %26#039;specific%26#039; (snow boots, saddle-oxfords for Halloween).

5) That would be a neat concept!

6) Maybe when I%26#039;m not so busy, and the %26#039;story behind the shoe%26#039; is short, sweet, and to the point.

7) No, I already believe in my dreams!

I%26#039;m 36.

2. Can you make a shoe that has style and comfort

3. I don%26#039;t travel much but I do have 3 pairs of shoes

that I switch between. 2 pairs of dress shoes and a

pair of dress sandals.

4. I do have about 3 pair of shoes I rarely use.

5. It would be great to be able to wear the same shoes

and be able to transform them. Charity or no charity I

would be interested in buying them. It would be neat

to know the story behind the shoes.

Good Luck.

Yes... if the product works... I love hearing stories about women entrepreneurs!
Reply:First of all, I need shoe companies to resume making size 5 shoes. I feel tortured every time I want or need a new pair of shoes. Finding my size is almost impossible.

I have spent over $100.00 for a nice pair of shoes, but I prefer something less expensive. I look for cute styles, and because I am teacher, on my feet all day, I look for comfort. As far as the proceeds going to charity, it might influence my decision if it is a charity I believe in.

Good Luck.

2) comfort (but SIZE is most important I%26#039;m TALL with long feet can somebody puhleez make shoes over size 10?)

3) YES!!!!!

4) Um....yes

5) Yes, but how??? I would like walkable cuteness with versatility

6) Yes. I like to invest in charities, I would be happy to know if some of the price went to breast cancer or shelters. ALSO I want to know that no workers were abused in a sweatshop to make my shoes.
Reply:I%26#039;m 32

1) $50 when I had good credit...now that I am on a strict budget, probably not more than $30 (that%26#039;s pushing it) Sorry, I guess I%26#039;m cheap

2) If I have to pick one, style. When I am working, comfort. When I am out socially, style

3) I don%26#039;t really travel that often. But yes, for vacations, I take as few shoes as possible. They are bulky

4) I have about 15 pairs of shoes. I don%26#039;t think that is too many. Only about three or four, I wear often

5) In a way it sounds great. But in another way, it sounds as if the shoes would wear out faster

5) (You have this number twice) Honestly, charity wouldn%26#039;t really matter to me much. Being that I have been so broke, I consider myself charity. (you said to be blunt) The story would be nice, but I don%26#039;t know if it would inspire me to buy the shoe. A good price would inspire me, cool styles. One aspect that would inspire me to buy the shoes is if they were man made and not made from any animal products. I have been a vegetarian for many years and it is so hard to find nice shoes that are not leather.
Reply:I am a self confessed shoe addict. I have literally hundreds of pairs of shoes and never seem to have enough. I think the most I%26#039;ve ever spent on foot coverings was $500 for a pair of really smokin hot boots in Paris. I travel all over the world and usually pack too many shoes. Comfort is important, but discomfort has never stopped me from wearing a pair of shoes that I was particularly fond of. I do have certain shoes that go with certain outfits and thus are not worn often. Love the idea of being able to switch out the look of a particular shoe to another. I%26#039;m really into thong, metallic, embellished sandals for the summer. I would definitely buy a pair of shoes for which part of the proceeds went to charity and the shoes were created by a woman. Being a woman entrepreneur myself, I would be supportive of the entire idea.

Does anyone know where I can find a flip flop shoe without the thong part in it?

Hi all! I am unable to wear Thong flip flops. They hurt inbetween my big toe and second toe. I currently have one pair of flop flops that do not have the thong part (I got them as a hand me down from my cousin). She doesn%26#039;t remember where she got them. Do you have any idea where I can buy that kind either on-line or at a retail store?
