Reply:tester shows potential difference and not power.
if we wear shoes,our feet will not be at ground potential as u have described(no electrical continuity),so it shows some pot.diff.
remember that there will be pot. diff. despite electrical discontinuity.
Reply:Because your body will draw a small amount of electricity even if it isn%26#039;t grounded. It will be enough to show on the tester but not so much that you will feel it.

Reply:The commercial testers use a neon lamp and a high series resistance to reduce the current to a few micro-amperes that is safe to humans. When you wear shoes all that you do is to increase the series resistance. There will be a corresponding decrease in the current. The glow will be dimmer.
You can try this experiment. Stand in your shoes and check the supply. Put your other palm on a wall nearby. You will see the light becoming brighter.
