Any thoughts on an ocean floor project for fourth grade where all parts have to be made of food?

My son has a science homework assignment to show his knowledge of the ocean floor. All parts of the ocean floor are to be made of food. We are to put it in a clear box (I'm using a clear shoe box). Suggestions for food from the assignment are jello for water, graham crackers for the slope, and cookie crumbs for the floor. Has anyone else done a project like this? I'm wondering how we will get it to "set" so the box can be carried to school. TIA!

When I was at university, we used to have jelly (jello for you US readers) and ice cream parties - but obviously not regular jelly, we replaced half of the water with alcohol. The main problem with this is that it did not set if you put it in the refrigerator, so instead, we had to put it into the freezer.
